Life and Sox.
He is doing a great job eating and sleeping as well. He has this new thing when he tired where he restlessly turns his head back and forth on the bed/car seat/bouncy seat/swing with his eyes closed like he is saying "No" really big with his head. Then he eventually turns it to his head to his left side over and over like he is continuing trying to look over his shoulder. He eventually gets tired of doing this and ends up sleeping with his head turned over as far as it can go to the left while still laying on his back. Here is that sweet boy sleeping in his crib.
I only have two weeks of maternity leave left! I have been extremely blessed to have had off about 12.5 weeks with our little guy. The good news is that I only have to go back to work for 4 weeks and 2 days and then I'll be back off about 10 weeks for the summer with him! We are extremely blessed to have found a dear lady to keep him for us. She keeps a dear friend and fellow colleagues baby and has volunteered to help us out during this time. It will be tough to leave him but its the best decision for us for many reasons that I won't bore you with. So, if you think of me on May 10th then say a prayer that I don't have a major meltdown leaving him. Ha!
As I mentioned earlier, two weekends ago we ventured to Kansas City to attend the Red Sox vs. Royals game on Sunday. Traveling with an infant is quite the adventure in and of itself! We managed to not forget anything too important so that was our first victory. Lincoln really enjoys being out and about. He loves to watch people and check out new surroundings.
He did a GREAT job at the game. He sat in the Baby Bjorn for about three hours! He just loved looking around at everything and being outside.

Two Months Old.
Lincoln officially turned two months old on Sunday, April 11 2010. We spent the day in Kansas City and he attended his first Red Sox game {more about that later!}. Sometimes it feels like he has been apart of our lives forever and other moments I feel like the time is just flying by! Around the six week mark, I felt like he began to settle into his own. His smiles increased, his night time sleep grew in length, and he started to notice and enjoy more his surroundings. We, as parents, are definitely feeling more confident in our skills which is a great feeling.
Two Month Stats
- He weighed 11 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 22.5 inches long at his appointment a week ago (which he was actually only 7 weeks old). Both fall in the 50th percentile
- He eats about 4.5-5 ounces every 3.5 hours (transitioned to all formula at 6 weeks).
- He has increased his night time sleep from a 4-5 hour stretch to anywhere from a 6 to sometimes an 8 hour stretch at night. And goes right back to sleep for another three hours after that. His night time sleep pattern isn't consistent but its getting there.
- His eyelashes are very long but they are extremely white. He has more hair in the back than the front. I think his hair falls in the strawberry blonde category.
- He is wearing size one diapers and 0-3 month clothing.
- He still loves the swing but its magical power over him to make him sleep is diminishing.
- He LOVES, I mean LOVES, the Baby Einstein mat and the star that lights up.
- He loves to kick and will start kicking really fast to the music of the star
- He babbles often, especially at the star
- He still loves to be swaddled with his lovie and paci with the music on when he sleeps
- He still hates it when you stop the bottle to burp him
- He took two road trips in his 2nd month -- Bryant and Kansas City
- He did pretty good during his two month old shots but later in the day he was pretty unhappy and cried for a very long time. Had to break out the baby Tylenol.
- He loves attention and will do this loud cry out, similar to a yell, over and over until you come back and pay attention to him
- He loves it when I get really close to his face and talk to him. He will do the open mouth smile and roll his head back -- like a silent laugh
- He has started this little smirk that he will give you with his head cocked to the side
- He has started waking up happier
- He is still not a great napper unless its in the swing, but he is getting better.
- As for milestones, he is tracks objects with his eyes very well, has excellent head control, blows bubbles with mouth and recognizes our voices.
- He is starting to enjoy tummy time more
- He is perfect and we wouldn't trade him for the world:)
I think he is looks about the same just older. Here is the link to last months picture so you can compare. This outfit is special to us because it is the outfit we bought HERE at Dillard's and opened to find out we were having a boy. I wanted to be sure and get a memorable picture of him in it. It is also the outfit we brought him home in but it was just a tiny bit big then!
Happy Birthday Lincster! We are thrilled to be your parents and are grateful with each moment we get with you! We love the way you smile at us when we talk to you and you have no clue what we are saying. We love to touch your chin or squeeze your fat cheeks to gain a great big smile from you. You bring a lot of joy to our house! Thanks for being such a sweet baby. We love you to the moon and back. A million times over.

The season is here.
Baseball season officially kicked off Monday night with the Yankees playing the Red Sox at Fenway! Cory has been preparing Lincoln for his very first baseball season by letting him watch some Spring training games this past week.
Monday night they experienced watching their very first Red Sox game together. I am positive this will only be the first of many thousands of games these two will enjoy together. And a huge bonus was that the Red Sox won! It looks to be quite possible that this weekend Lincoln will experience ATTENDING his first Red Sox game. We will see!
Oh, sweet Caroline
Good times never seem so good (So good, So good, So good)
I've been inclined to believe it never would.

Easter 2010
{I love this child to pieces, just hope he loves me back after putting him in this outfit.}
And on Easter he sported a "tie" with his very first pair of Robeez with pirates on them -- because nothing says Easter like pirates on your shoes, right? Thanks to Papa and Gigi for my styling outfit.
Lincoln did a great job at church today! He stayed in his carrier without crying (too much) and eventually fell asleep. This was the first time we have not had to use the "cry" room. I think in the next Sunday or so he will make his first trip to the nursery. Yikes for mommy! :)
And the day was topped off with him opening his first Easter basket, which consisted of wrist rattles, an Easter book and a new Razorback shirt! He looks thrilled, huh?
HAPPY EASTER 2010!
*********************************************
Oh Lincoln, we hope you enjoyed your first Easter and felt as loved as you truly are! We look forward to the day when you will be able to understand the existence of a Savior that was crucified on a cross for your sins in order to prepare a way for you to spend eternity in the presence of our King. We serve a Savior that is Risen. A Savior that was not able to be contained in a grave created by men. And THAT little guy is the reason we can live with great hope and anticipation of being with him forever. One day.
We love you LMC!

Our week.
Lincoln turned 7 weeks on Thursday (April 1st) and his babble sounds have really picked up. They are longer and are coming with more compassion and emphasis. He had a lot to say about all of our activities this week. So much so that I caught him on camera twice "talking" up a storm.
Here is what he had to say --
We are gearing up for a fun weekend visit from Papa and Gigi for Easter!! Hope you all have a blessed Easter celebrating that He has RISEN!!!
