Wicked Reunion

In mid-November, we headed to Central LR for the weekend. Our DCM crew decided it was time to get together again. We met back up at the cabin we stayed at last year for chili and fellowship. It was a short time together but we managed to get in lots of laughs. It blows my mind that it has been two year since Jill passed away. I still have days where I am overwhelmed by her absence. She played a huge part in my spiritual life and I miss her greatly.

We didn't realize that my camera takes 2 pictures when its set to auto timer.

Later that night, my mom and I dressed up, ate dinner at Ya Ya's and attended the most wonderful Broadway show, Wicked. I had a fun night with my mom.

And of course, Lincoln had to have his picture taken with some of his grandparents before heading out on Sunday.

Nine Months Old.

Happy 9 months, Lincoln!

This past month has been so.much.fun with Lincoln! His personality is rapidly developing and he is exploring the world with his little army crawling that has transitioned into mainly "belly off the floor" crawling. He loves to just play all the time. He loves just about anything he can get his hands on and boy does he try to get his hands on everything! He likes to mimic facial expression as well as sounds.

Nine Month Stats:

  • Weighs about 20 pounds and is about 28 inches long
  • He sleeps from about 7:30-6:30 each night
  • He takes two naps a day morning and afternoon. This month he went on strike for the evening nap.
  • He is wearing mainly 6-9 month and 6-12 month clothes with some 12 month clothes.
  • Wearing a size 3 diaper
  • He is eating us out of house and home! He still drinks 5 bottles a day of 6 ounces of formula each. As well as solids 3-4 times a day. For breakfast he eats 4 oz of applesauce and diced peaches, lunch consists of 6 oz of baby food as well as diced peaches, a snack in the afternoon and dinner is again another 4-6 oz of baby food.
  • He is eating more of the jarred baby foods at the "3rd food" consistency, as well as diced peaches, cottage cheese, and chunks of ham. He just l.o.v.e.s to eat! I have slowed down on making the baby food because he likes it at a thicker consistency and I do not feel confident in my skills to make it the right consistency for him.
  • He has a total of 5 teeth with his 6th one VERY close to coming in
  • He loves to click his tongue
  • He spent his first night (two in fact) away from mommy! He had a great time with Papa and Gigi.
  • He continued to army crawl for quite a while this month but about halfway through the month he discovered to crawl with his belly off the floor. Every day since then he crawls more that way than army crawling. If he gets going too fast then he falls on his stomach and continues army crawling the rest of the way.

  • He has learned how to wave and on occasion he has even said the "b" sound with it as if you are trying to say "bye, bye."
  • He is learning to give high-fives but he is not great at it yet.
  • He just started pulling up on things onto his knees and is very happy about it.
  • He continues to LOVE to clap. He loves to crawl over to me so I can stand him up and then he just claps for himself.

  • He still loves to sing the sleepy song when he is going to sleep
  • He is starting to use ma-ma and da-da for the correct parent. We laugh because when he is happy he crawls around saying "da-da, da-da" but when he is upset, hungry or tired he says "ma-ma, ma-ma, ma-ma" over and over and over with the saddest little tone!

Lincoln, this past month has been an absolute joy with you! You are such a fun baby to be around. You just love to clap and laugh. While you are sitting down you spin around in a circle on your bottom if you are really excited. You are so curious and a major thinker. You have been nicknamed "Thinkin' Lincoln." When we are out at restaurants you love to watch all the people and you love to stare at the waiter or waitress. You get extremely excited when I pick you up from school. You crawl over to me and when I pick you up you lean your head back and look at me to make sure its really me and then you "eat" my face and giggle. When daddy comes home from work you try to get out of your high chair to get into his arms. Another thing that you L.O.V.E is the shopping cart. You bounce up and down with the biggest smile on your face when we put you in there. And our most favorite thing is that you love to bounce your torso up and down anytime you hear any music or we sing to you. As you can tell, you are just a fun guy!

We love you! M and D

Welcome to the jungle

We did not have tigers and bears but we did have our little lion and O MY was he ever so cute! We had such a fun first Halloween with sweet little Lincoln. Mimi and Poppy were in town visiting for the weekend and before they left we made sure they were able to see Lincoln in his costume in person. Look at him all smiles in his costume! I had been putting the head on him occasionally over the last month so he would be more comfortable with it and I think it worked. He was an awesome sport all night!

One of my co-workers and good friend was having her son's first birthday party Halloween style that evening. So, before heading out to the party we had a little photo shoot in the backyard with Lincoln.

Harper was born last year ON Halloween so it was only fitting that his first birthday party be a Halloween theme! Here he is eating his cake!

Caroline with her birthday boy! She is pregnant with baby #2 due in May. Harper and his brother/sister will be 19 months apart!

Caroline had Harper's Halloween costume made! He was Moose A. Moose, the mascot, (as I was informed) from Nick Junior. Isn't this costume amazing? Yes, Harper is under there somewhere. Ha! Caroline said she plans to take it back to the lady that made it and her turn it into a stuffed animal that he can play with. Isn't that great idea?

Us girls with our little animals!

Lincoln was such a good sport all night. He just played in the floor, army crawling after the bigger kids and laughing. It is evident he loves to be around the action. He is a watcher and a thinker and is enthralled with other people. He was so calm and taking it all in. After cake and presents, we all headed out to trick-or-treat together which was so much fun. Cory took Lincoln up to about about 3 or 4 doors but this was pretty much his expression all night. One, he was exhausted. Two, I guess he was afraid to move in the costume. And three, he has decided his mom is crazy and he mine as well just go with it! Ha!

When I was pregnant one of the things I looked forward to the most was Lincoln's first Halloween and dressing him up. And believe me, it did not disappoint. What a memorable night!
