Showered and Sprinkled.

We have been abundantly blessed with 3 showers for Emery!  The first one was at my work and it was actually a surprise "Sprinkle" as the group termed it.  We have a regular school psych meeting each week and when I showed up it was a shower instead of a meeting.  It was actually funny b/c I was not feeling well that day and had called my boss to see if our meeting was important b/c I wanted to take half a sick day.  She went on and on about how important it was and I was so confused as to what she was talking about, but I stuck it out and went anyways.  So, when I got there I quickly realized why the meeting was so important!  :)

I can definitely say I was totally surprised!

All the cute decor and a few pics of me opening gifts.

The next shower we had was thrown by our small group.  About a year ago we started attending a different church and through some friends from our old church we started attending this small group.  We have had the best time getting to know this group and learning the scripture with them.  They have been a HUGE blessing to us.  It is so neat how God brought us to this group through one couple friend, but when we went the first time we found out that we knew another couple in the group as well as the leaders of the group!  It has been great confirmation from God that he had this group prepared in advance for us.  Here are a few pictures from that shower.

And lastly, my school (where my office has been located for the last 5 years) threw me a shower the day before I left on maternity leave.  This building has been so good to me over the years and I love being at their school.  It was where my office was my internship year and I have been privileged to say there every since.  One of the girls took my phone and took 44 pictures of me opening gifts!  Ha.  I will spare you that and only share a few.

We have tons of fun girlie things just waiting on Emery to arrive!

39 week appointment

Well I am 38.5 weeks preggo with Emery Claire.  I had my doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon.  I am dilated to a 4 and 80% effaced.  And the best news is that Emery has finally decided to drop some.  So....now we wait.  Dr. P gave me the option to be induced as early as Tuesday, April 24th but I can wait till Monday to decide if I want to do that.   And if not on Tuesday then I can chose a date later in the week or continue to hold out.  Emery has definitely slowed down in her movements and I am feeling a lot more "heavy."  I think she might end up being closer to Lincoln's birth weight of 8 lb 3 oz.

Here is my latest picture.

I was 37.5 weeks when this picture was taken, which is when I took my last picture pregnant with Lincoln.  I am definitely not swelling like I did with Lincoln which I think is evident in this picture.

And just as a side note, I was at this exact same point (dilated and effaced) when my water broke with Lincoln.  Crazy to think it is going to happen soon!!

Easter Weekend

On Easter weekend we had a visitor - Pop (as Lincoln has shortened his name from Poppa Don).  Cory's dad came up to visit for Thursday through Saturday and we stayed busy the whole time he was here.  Friday night we took Lincoln and Pop to their first Razorback baseball game.  Lincoln did pretty good at the game.  He sat in his chair people watching for the first 4 innings with no problem.  It helped that there were 2 little girl "cheerleaders" sitting a few rows behind us to keep his interest.  However, around the 4th inning he saw "Rippy" the baseball mascot and he was trying everything he could to get to the mascot.  So we decided to go on a walk to try and find the mascot so Lincoln could meet him.  We finally got close enough to get his picture with him.  Lincoln was giddy with excitement to be so close.  Rippy even signed Lincoln's baseball.  His excitement is easily seen through his wide eyes.

Saturday morning we went to local church for their helicopter egg drop.  Lincoln LOVES "airpanes" so this event did not disappoint.  Most of the eggs were already out but the helicopter dropped a few more.

The Easter egg hunt was CROWDED.  So, needless to say Lincoln only ended up with two eggs.  I guess we need to work on picking up eggs a little bit more quickly!  Each egg had a tootsie roll in them and he thought he had won the lottery.  It was his first time to have a tootsie roll and he ate them as though he was a veteran!

Since the Easter egg hunt was somewhat of a flop for Lincoln (although he really did not know it was a flop) we decided to do a little hunt for him in our backyard after church on Sunday.  He was so excited to hunt for the eggs but even more excited that there was candy inside!

We had a great weekend and look forward to Easter next year with TWO little ones!

Emery's Nursery

Well, I think we can officially say that Emery's nursery is done!  It is a very different type of nursery for a baby girl - no pink.  I am not an anti-pink person but I just really wanted to do something different.  So, we went with a yellow, gray, and turquoise nursery.  I love the way it turned out and think it will be a fun room to grow "into" as she gets older.  Thankful to my husband who painted the walls and striped the ceiling.  However, it should be noted that Cory has always wanted to stripe a ceiling so it was not all my doing.

And here are few fun things that I have gotten with her name on it...

And here is her "lovie" or as Lincoln calls his "dovie."  Gigi bought this for Emery to carry on the tradition with all of nephew, nieces and Lincoln.  I am interested to see if Emery loves her as much as Lincoln has loved his.

I really enjoyed decorating the nursery and rarely found it as a stressful project.  I think it is therapeutic for me to create it b/c I feel productive instead of just sitting around and waiting :)  Well, our to-do list started out quite lengthy when we found out we were pregnant with Emery and it is so nice to look at it now and see that we are only down to a handful of things like packing our hospital bag and installing the carrier in the car.  Hopefully she will be here soon!

37 week appointment

So, I had my 37 week appointment this morning. I am
dilated to a 3 and 70% effaced. However, Emery is still sitting very high! I technically will not be 37 weeks till Saturday so I am praying she stays put till at least then. I have a feeling it will happen in about 2 weeks. My guess at this point is that she will arrive on the 18th and weigh about 7 and a half pounds. Time will only tell... Stay tuned.

And because I love pics. Here is one of me and my little man.

And some pics of Lincoln with his Emery doll that he loves!
