Halloween Photo Shoot

On Sunday we had a little photo shoot of the kids in their costumes. It is suppose to be rainy all week so I wanted to spend a little time with them and my 50mm.  Emery was not a fan in the beginning but with a few m&m's she perked right up and was all smiles.  Lincoln has been asking for MONTHS to be Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates for Halloween.  My mom buys the kids costumes so every day he would say "When is Gigi going to get me my Jake costume?"  We decided that since he was Jake then sister could be Tinkerbell.  I think they are mighty cute if you ask me.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Disney Baby

Last week I got an email from Keiko at Disney Baby.  She said she was writing a blog post featuring a round up of teal and gray nurseries and wanted to feature mine.  I was sure when I read it that it was spam.  I mean, really, I have never gotten recognition for anything creative in my life.  I guess the pregnancy hormones gave me some good creative juices to draw from when creating the nursery.  Anywho, I thought it was pretty awesome and gave her my permission to add it to her blog.  Click HERE to see the link.  This is the picture that she used.

It will be fun to tell Emery one day that her nursery was feature on Disney Baby's blog.

Craft fairs, 60th Birthday and Veggie Tales Live.

Last weekend we had my parents up for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  We shopped the War Eagle Craft Fair, celebrated my dad's 60th birthday, shopped Rhea Lana's, watched Veggie Tales Live and went to church on Sunday.

When Papa and Gigi arrived on Thursday night they gave Lincoln his Halloween costume they bought him.  It is Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates).  He has been asking me everyday when Gigi was going to get his costume.

Then on Friday we went out to the actual War Eagle Craft Fair.  The weather was nice but it was pretty crowded.  Lincoln told Papa on the way there that he NEEDED a new sword and asked if there would be any swords there.  Oddly enough we found him a bow and arrow and a sword made out of a pool noodle and PVC pipe.  His day was made.  We also found Emery the cutest Razorback dress that she wore on Sunday.

Reading books with Gigi

Friday evening we took dad out for a steak dinner at Coltons.  He of course shared his sweet tea with Emery and she showed him how she can now give "knucks."

After dinner we headed home and enjoyed a peanut butter pie from Village Inn for my dad's 60th birthday!

Saturday morning was Lincoln's last soccer game.  It was 40 degrees at the start of the game.  He just kept running to stay warm.  Us adults were sooo cold.  My mom ended up taking Emery to the car to keep warm.

It just so happened that there was a Veggie Tales Live performance in town on the same day.  So my mom, Lincoln and I went to it at the local high school.  Lincoln loved the performance.  And our friends Amelia and Sawyer were there as well.

Sunday morning we tried to snap a picture of Papa and Gigi with the kids before church.  BUT someone, who shall rename nameless {Ahemm..Lincoln} was not interested.  So Emery was the star of the picture on her cute War Eagle Razorback dress.

We had a super fun weekend as always with our family!

Farmland Adventures

Last Saturday after naptime we took the kids to Farmland Adventures.  It is an area with a corn maze, hay and corn play areas, animals and wagon rides to feed the cows.  We went last year but this year was even more fun with both kids being older.

The kids were a little unsure when we arrived!

As soon as we got there we ran into our friends the Bidwells.  This is one of Lincoln's best buddies.  Her name is Amelia but he pronounces it "A-meal-dee-ya"  Ha!  She is always ready for a pose.

Lincoln went straight for the hay barrels stacked up and loved jumping off them.

Emery wanted out of the stroller but insisted on standing right beside it for a while.

She eventually warmed up and enjoyed playing too

Since we ran into the Bidwell's we were able to take turns with a family shot!

Emery insisted on Cory holding her for a while.

I grabbed this snapshot of Lincoln while we waited our turn to ride on the wagon to feed the cows.

Lincoln was unsure of feeding the cows...

However, Emery and her love for all things animals had no fear as you can see...

Sweet girl loved seeing all the cows.

Up next was time to ride the ponies or donkeys as Lincoln called them.

And out of some crazy luck, Cory snapped these amazing pictures of me with the kids.

We sure are blessed with these two bundles of energy, love and hugs.
