New Camera

Well, I have enjoyed using my new camera and have loved that Lincoln just lays there so he can be my subject whether he wants to be or not!! :) Here are some - I mean A LOT of pictures of Lincoln and Cory from around the house lately!

Yummy, sweety potatoes!

My dad is the best!

Loves to sleep with his little rear end up in the air! I love it.

Hanging out with my daddy!

We combed all his hair straight up after his bath -- not sure you can see it very well. This is what he looks like all day trying to chew on EVERYTHING!!!

Visitors!

This weekend Mimi and Poppy came to visit us, well at least Lincoln! Ha! We had fun shopping (great deals at Gymboree and Bath and Body Works!) as well as hanging out, and eating lots of good food (out to eat and cooked!). Here is Lincoln with the grandparents --

Summer Projects.

In honor of Summer officially beginning earlier this week I thought I would write about my summer projects. Here is what I have on tap for Summer 2010:

Make Baby Food for Lincoln. I purchased this book to point me in the right direction. We started rice cereal on June 18th, I have made sweet potatoes and avocados thus far. We have only tried out the sweet potatoes and they were a big hit!

Lose more weight. I have 3 more pounds till I will be at pre-pregnancy weight, however after getting off birth control, my miscarriage and then being on progesterone to get pregnant gave me about 15 unwanted pounds before I even got pregnant. Plus, being back to "pre-pregnancy" weight doesn't mean anything fits like it use to, right? Can I get an amen from you other moms out there? Or maybe its just me. I need to lose more just so my old clothes fit b/c I'm too cheap to go buy new ones!

Learning how to use my new camera. Cory bought me this for our anniversary and I am lovin' it so far!

Play, read books, sing song, go swimming, shopping and hanging out with this sweet boy.

What are your summertime projects?!?!

Pap-paw

This past weekend Pap-paw (Cory's dad) came to visit us! He was a great helper with Lincoln! They enjoyed sitting out in the garage watching cars go by, listening to people mow their lawn and I'm sure some conversations were had about hot rods and fishing! It is a good thing that grandparents love their grandchildren no matter what because between recovering from his four month old shots, teething and new side effects from acid reflux meds he was not a happy baby the majority of his visit. However, now Lincoln is adjusting to teething, over his shots, switched to medicine that is easier on his stomach and started solids so he has been MUCH happier and back to sleeping through the nigh! Hoping it stays that way!

1st Father's Day!

Today we are celebrating Cory's 1st Father's Day!!

Cory has by far blown me away with how well he has adjusted to fatherhood. He has jumped right in with both feet from Day 1 by standing beside me for 16 hours during birth while we waited on Lincoln to arrived. He never hesitates to change a diaper (well maybe the really poopy ones!), wash bottles, fold his clothes, entertain him or go buy diapers and formula for him. He is 100% hands on with taking care of Lincoln and I would want it no other way! I think Cory has even surprised himself with how much he adores Lincoln. And I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this relationship blossom and look forward to seeing the two of them grow together in the coming years!

Minutes after Lincoln arrived.

Cuddling with Lincoln in the hospital

Leaving Room #15 to take our sweet baby home.

Taken care of his boy!

Lincoln was doing the "fencing" reflex and Cory thought it looked like the Heisman pose so he was imitating him.

Today on Cory's First Father's Day.

Cory,

Lincoln is so blessed to grow up with a daddy like you! I love to watch you interact with him, make him smile and make him laugh. I think its special that his first smile was at you! I know you cannot wait to teach him the finer things in life -- how to throw a baseball, what channel ESPN is but most importantly of our Savior. Thanks for being such a great daddy to Lincoln. We are both blessed to have you in our lives.

Happy 1st Father's Day!!!

This one goes out to the one I love....

Five wonderful years ago today, I lived every little girl's dream by walking down the aisle of a big church with my daddy to marry the man that makes my heart putter!

And he still makes my heart putter to this day!

Shots

Poor little guy all tuckered out after his shots today! He fell asleep on my chest while I was burping him. Such a sweet baby!

All went well at the doctor today. She increased his acid reflux meds due to him gaining a pound since she prescribed the meds three weeks ago. She also said he has two "lumps" on the bottom gums and she thinks he will have teeth sooner than later. Which also makes sense why he has been so unhappy -- teething! Yikes. He weighed 14 lbs. 9 oz. and was 25.5 inches long -- both 50 percentile. And his head circumference is still in the 25th percentile. He has stayed in the same percentiles in all areas since birth. He just an average sized baby with a slightly skinny head! Ha! She also gave us the go ahead to start solids so I have a feeling rice cereal will be in our future. Fun times. And we ended the appointment with shots which as you can imagine never goes over well. Its the only time he cries so hard his whole head gets red and his eyebrows go white/blonde. Its not a pretty picture. Overall, we have a healthy baby and we could not be anymore grateful!

Four Months Old.

Happy 4 Months, Lincoln Miles!!!

Four Month Stats:

  • I am estimating he weighs around 14.5 pounds and is about 24-25 inches long. We go Wednesday for his 4 month check up.
  • He eats about 6 ounces every 3.5 hours -- 5 bottles a day.
  • He sleeps about 10-11 hours a night. His bedtime is around 7:15-7:30 p.m.
  • He is getting a little bit more blonde hair.
  • He is still wearing size two diapers and mainly 3-6 month clothing, except in the waist -- he can still wear some 0-3 month bottoms and can barely keep on 3-6 month pants. He is long with a tiny waist.
  • He started sleeping UNSWADDLED around 3.5 months! He decided he wanted to break free from that but we do put him in a sleep sack and he sleeps well in that.

  • He loves to be held and walked around. His favorite spot is facing forward in the Baby Bjorn.
  • He is really favoring his daddy right now
  • He enjoys just laying on the floor and kicking.
  • He is ticklish around his neck (just like mommy) and in his armpits!
  • His naps are getting there -- he fights a nap like nobody's business but at night when its time to go to bed he just rolls over and goes to sleep! Go figure! Baby bootcamp for better nap taking starts next week!
  • He reaches out to touch objects, can pick them up and they always go to his mouth.
  • He likes to be stand up on his feet when you hold him so he can look around

  • He rolled over from his back to his stomach this past Sunday for the first time. And now everytime you lay him down on his back he flips over to his stomach and looks around. However, he has forgotten how to roll back over to his back. He hasn't quite conquered combining the skills.

  • Once on his stomach he has started to kick his feet and dig them into the ground to try and lift his rear end off the floor. Poor boy wants to be able to just TAKE off and run! I think he is going to be mobile sooner than later b/c his quite determined. As you can see...he likes to nose dive off the boppy.

  • He started medicine for acid reflux around 3.5 months and we are seeing results. His spit still happens -- decreased -- but still happens. But, he doesn't cry in pain when he does it so that is improvement in our book.
  • His babble is more of a gurgle in the back of his throat. He will look at you out of the corner of his eye, tilt his head, give you a serious look and just babble away.
  • He got a new exersaucer and I think when his feet can better reach the bottom he will like it more!

Lincoln, You are getting to be such a big boy! We are having the time of our lives being your parents! Everyday is a joy to see what new "tricks" you have up your sleeve and what makes you smile and laugh. Thank you for being such a fun baby!! We love you!!

Welcom back Summertime.

It's official. School is out for the summer and I am one happy lady! I am excited about spending my summer playing with my sweet baby instead of laying on the couch all summer with all-day sickness!! Instead, I am enjoying the benefits of that!

These baby blues were definitely worth it all!

The last few days of work my mom came up to watch Lincoln for us. She managed to still work while taking good care of him which is a big chore. I couldn't manage both! She also took good care of me because over the weekend I got strep throat which is still lingering on despite the antibiotics. My mother does a great job of just finding a job that needs to be done around the house and doing it. I managed to escape washing bottles the whole time she was here because every time I went to wash them she had beat me to it. Its hard to stay ahead of her because she is always two steps ahead.

Our little Razorback with Gigi.

Since we will not get to see the sandy beaches this year we decided to put a medium size pool in our backyard to enjoy this summer. We have it all set up but we have not taken a swim yet.

Cory cheesin' it up.

We just plan to stay low key and enjoy sometime around the house this summer. We do have one VERY fun trip planned around Jully 4th where we will be headed to The Rock for a family reunion. BUT the most important and most fun part of the trip will be meeting my new niece, Story Leigh, and seeing my sweet nephew, nieces, SIL and brother. This will also be their first time to meet Lincoln as well. The countdown has begun. We also made a trip to LA over Memorial Day weekend to meet our other sweet new niece. Upcoming post and pictures from that event soon.
