Randomness.

I am L.O.V.I.N.G my summer of nothingness!! I have done some projects around the house, actually had time to stay on top of doing laundry and house work and just enjoyed the little things like getting to see Cory for lunch everyday!

This is what has been consuming the majority of my week last week. So good! This author is phenomenal. If you are looking for a good read -- I recommend it. It gives you a great glimpse into Afghanistan culture.

A couple of weeks ago we started the project of putting some shutters up on our house! The exterior of our house is BARE. It is naked and needs lots of help. We decided to start with shutter. Seeing as those are the cheapest way to get started on all the help it needs. We debated on the type of shutters but decided that the "board-n-batten" style seems to be in -- so we went with it. I decided on a chocolate brown for a little spark of something different. We took the shutters to Home Depot before we hung them up and put them in the color match machine so we could get a similar color to paint the front door. I think the shutters will look better once the front door is the same color (and once we get landscaping, gutters, a fence, and the list goes on and on!).

We also recently invested in a treadmill! We are loving having is since in our neck of the woods for about 8 months out of the year it is either 100+ degrees or there is snow on the ground. Nothing beats a walk outside with my neighbor Erin and her dog Annie but some days the weather does not permit. The only thing I don't love about the treadmill is its location -- our bedroom! But you gotta do what you gotta do!

This is about as exciting as the Calhouns get thus far this summer. I know -- fascinating!

We are very excited about the 4th of July weekend! I hope you all have a great holiday and be careful!!

Happy 4 Years.

Today is our 4 year Wedding Anniversary! I am so very blessed to have Cory as my husband. We always have such a great time together. He is extremely patient, loving, helpful and hilarious! I have had the best 4 years and I can't wait for the rest of our years together!

For lunch, Cory brought me home Chick-Fil-A and gave me a present! I got a new watch and some chocolate (which is always a good touch!)! I have been wearing the same watch he bought me about 5 or 6 years ago and the date didn't work on it and it didn't keep great time anymore! I love my new watch with a hit of bling-bling!! My camera is dead from Florida and it was much easier to google for a picture instead of taking one myself.

I also went ahead and gave him his present at lunch! (We are like kids on Christmas morning, we couldn't even wait till the evening to exchange presents!). I gave him some money to buy a new grill since ours bit the dust a couple of weeks ago. He was really excited and then I handed him another card....a birthday card; his birthday isn't till August! I had conspired with his parents to go ahead and contribute early birthday money so he could buy a REALLY nice grill! Now, he has a nice set of cash to get the grill of his dreams. I'll post pictures of that when he picks it out.

Enjoy a wedding picture of us in 2005 and then a great picture that Lindsey took of us last week on the beach.

Cory has a softball game tonight so we plan to go out to eat tomorrow night and continue our tradition of watching our wedding video tomorrow night! I LOVE watching our wedding video. It is the favorite part of my anniversary.

Happy June 18th to you.

Beach Photos

Zoom on over to Lindsey Faith Photography to see the pictures that Lindsey took of our family at the beach! See blog below for more details about out trip to the beach.

Great job, Linz!

Family Vaca.

Last week we spent the week in Destin (Santa Rosa Beach/Grayton Beach area) with my parents, brother, SIL, nephew and two nieces. We had such a good time with them. This is the first time that all of us have been together in about two years! So we cherished the moments of spending time together. We spent sometime at Baytown Warf, shopping at the outlets, shopping at another outdoor mall, swimming at the pool and of course at the beach!

Cory and I broke away from the group some evenings and spent some evenings eating dinner together, getting ice cream and watched the move UP in 3D (Cory LOVED it, I thought it was pretty good but it is a SAD movie!). Also, another very fun treat was that one of my best friends Lindsey at Lindsey Faith Photography was in Destin with some friends and took an evenign of her night to come take pictures of our family on the beach! Also, another one of my best freinds Beka was in town with her husbands family! So Cory and I met up with her and her husband and ate dinner at the Red Bar on Grayton Beach! Very good. Highly recommend it.

We had such a fun time! One of my favorite things about the trip is that I officially have an aunt nickname! My niece Summer who will turn 2 in July has started calling me Juie. My SIL said that it had taken her a little bit to figure out that she was talking about me when she was saying it! I am pretty excited about my new name! It makes it even more special that Summer came up with it on her own. It is also very fitting b/c my brother and I have an Aunt that we still call to this day JuJu; so, I am like the second generation JuJu!! Funny story: Towards the end of the trip Carter, my nephew who is 3, was talking to me and he said, "Summer calls you Juie, that is funny!" He continued by saying, "You are not Cari anymore you are Juie!" Too cute.

Here are some fun pictures from our vacation.
