Easter Weekend

On Easter weekend we had a visitor - Pop (as Lincoln has shortened his name from Poppa Don).  Cory's dad came up to visit for Thursday through Saturday and we stayed busy the whole time he was here.  Friday night we took Lincoln and Pop to their first Razorback baseball game.  Lincoln did pretty good at the game.  He sat in his chair people watching for the first 4 innings with no problem.  It helped that there were 2 little girl "cheerleaders" sitting a few rows behind us to keep his interest.  However, around the 4th inning he saw "Rippy" the baseball mascot and he was trying everything he could to get to the mascot.  So we decided to go on a walk to try and find the mascot so Lincoln could meet him.  We finally got close enough to get his picture with him.  Lincoln was giddy with excitement to be so close.  Rippy even signed Lincoln's baseball.  His excitement is easily seen through his wide eyes.

Saturday morning we went to local church for their helicopter egg drop.  Lincoln LOVES "airpanes" so this event did not disappoint.  Most of the eggs were already out but the helicopter dropped a few more.

The Easter egg hunt was CROWDED.  So, needless to say Lincoln only ended up with two eggs.  I guess we need to work on picking up eggs a little bit more quickly!  Each egg had a tootsie roll in them and he thought he had won the lottery.  It was his first time to have a tootsie roll and he ate them as though he was a veteran!

Since the Easter egg hunt was somewhat of a flop for Lincoln (although he really did not know it was a flop) we decided to do a little hunt for him in our backyard after church on Sunday.  He was so excited to hunt for the eggs but even more excited that there was candy inside!

We had a great weekend and look forward to Easter next year with TWO little ones!

Christmas Recap

We had a wonderful Christmas this year!  Lincoln definitely enjoyed it more than last year but not near as much as I think he will next year.  Everytime he opened a present he would say "Wow."  He enjoyed the act of opening them more than the actual toy at times.  He was definitely spoiled ROTTEN by all the love, attention and gifts during our 5 day trip.  Cory and I, of course, were not left out and were given way more than we deserve.  It was a joy to spend some with our families and to find out at the same time we would be having a girl!  Such a treat.  All that being said, here are the pics from Christmas!

Dragging Lincoln all over definitely started to be apparant towards the end of the trip.  He is a pretty good traveler but too many days out of his routine and not sleeping in his own bed really starts to catch up with him.  He slept extra long at night and took extra long naps the few days we were back home.

And this is this is the only picture we took of our family at Chrstmas so I will post it again.

Hot Roddin'

We spent Memorial Day with Pop-pa, Pop-pa Don, Pop-pa Wheely {it's a work in progress}. He had a hot rod car show about 2 hours from us so went for a visit.  But first, we stopped in Branson for the day and night to enjoy a mini-vacation with just the three of us.  However, Lincoln was recovering from a random fever virus, it was hot, slightly crowded and the A/C in our hotel room broke in the middle of the night so needless to say some memories were made.  Some I might like to forget but memories nonetheless. Ha!  No pictures were taken on this blessed event.
Back to the subject at hand.  On Sunday we ventured down the road to Springfield to visit Cory's dad.  He built this shiny blue hot rod with his own two hands many years ago.  Cory and I actually left our wedding in the hotrod.

Exhibit A

Lincoln loves being outside so the car show was right up his alley. He also loved playing inside the Pop-pa's hotrod!

And of course we had to get a few shots of him in front of the infamous hot rod.

We enjoyed visiting Pop-pa Wheely!

Lincoln's Loot.

After a bath to clean off the birthday boy he was ready to open up his loot. As any good kids birthday party goes, he had lots of little helpers. Here is Brodie showing him the ropes on how the baseball machine works.

Brooklyn showing Lincoln how his new swing from Mimi works.

Showing Lincoln his new tickle-me Elmo from Pop-pa.

Lincoln giving Elmo a hug.

Taking a ride in his new wagon from Papa and Gigi.

Lincoln again giving Elmo a hug. He does not give sugars, only hugs.

Opening up presents is hard work.

After presents, the party continued outside with the kids jumping outside in the bounce house as well as taking turns trying to break open the parrot pinata. In the midst of the craziness I have no pictures to show for the those events. The party was a hit and the last person left about 4 hours after the party started.

We wrapped up the day with photo opts with his grandparents -- Mimi and Poppy

Papa and Gigi with the birthday boy.

Proud parents!

Hope you enjoyed your first birthday, Lincoln. We love you!
