Look Alike?

After I took and posted this picture for Valentine's Day Cory saw it and said "Wow, he really looks like Cody (his twin brother) in that picture."

This prompted me to finally scan in several baby pics of me and Cory (that has been on my to-do list since August). It has also been commented that Lincoln favors me, Cory and even my dad. One of my favorite questions to ask people is "Who do you think he looks like?" So it only fitting that put the question to the bloggers.

So, you be the judge.........................

Here is Lincoln at a year old.

Here is my dad (on the left) with his twin sister.

Here is Cody (left) and Cory (right) about 20 months of age.

Here are Cody (left) and Cory (right) again about 2 years old.

And here is me :)

You may have gotten side-tracked by all the "twin" pics. Yes, my dad is a fraternal twin and so is my husband. This also means there are not pictures of JUST my dad or JUST my husband. They always come in pairs. Anywho, back to the subject at hand. As crazy as it sounds I think Lincoln favors me and Cody (my brother-in-law)!

Do you think Lincoln gets his good looks from my dad, Cody (my BIL), Cory (my husband) or me? :)

Where's Lincoln?

"Has anyone seen Lincoln?"
"I can't find him anywhere!"
"Oh! There he is!!"
His new favorite game is peek-a-boo and it just might be the cutest thing EVER!

Ostman Visit

This weekend we had a fun visit from my aunt, two cousins and each of their girls! We were able to see my aunt and one of my cousins this summer at our family reunion. However, Emily (my other cousin) was great with child during the reunion so she was unable to come. I am not sure how this happened but it has been FOUR years since I have seen Em. It's a crime for sure. We enjoyed sometime out at the park attempting to fly a kite on a not-so-windy day, eating some BWW and reminiscing about old times.
Em, Madaline and Aunt Grace
Ella taking a ride down the slide
Gigi helping Lincoln down the slide

Lincoln making sure Madaline does not tell his secrets!

Yummy celery at BWW.

Sweet boy!

Favorite things....

I have several new "favorite things" these days...

1. Need to Breath CD "The Outsiders" - Cory got this for me for V-day and I am lovin' it. I think I have listened to the whole CD 30 times in the past month. Good stuff!

2. Laughing Cow cheese wedges - these little wedges only have 35 calories each! They have many tasty flavors but I think French Onion is my fav! Plus, I am in a weight loss competition (friendly competition, of course) at work so I am trying to find as many low-cal snacks as possible.

3. Oliver's Labels -- labels for Lincoln's "stuff." I saw these advertised on the Today show several months ago and saved the link to buy at a later date. I mainly wanted these for Lincoln's sippy cups for the church nursery and other events with several kiddos. I read several reviews on them and read nothing but good things. They last throw the dishwasher and wear and tear of a toddler. I just got them about a week ago and so far so good. I have the original lables in the "transportation" pattern.

4. Chick-fil-A/Heinz "Dip and Squeeze" -- It is NO secret that I am girl that loves me some ketchup. I am pretty sure my parents bribbed me to eat many a things growing up by putting ketchup on it. This nifty little new product allows you to either squeeze the ketchup out OR have a little container to dip your food in. I just think this is the greatest invention b/c there is never anything for me to squeeze out my ketchup on! So far I have only seen them available at Chick-fil-A.

Have any new favorite things??

Update on Lindsey

Lindsey's sister, Christina, has been kind enough to share updates with us on Lindsey's day. Here is what her sister wrote a note on facebook this afternoon. Since this was written I have received a couple of text messages from Lindsey so that is a praise that she is able to "see" to text! Good news on how the procedure went and now we pray for her vision to recover quickly and fully!

Here is the note from her sister:

I've been trying to catch up on the information Lindsey has shared here so far to know the best way to update you all. Here is my attempt at following up on what all she has shared previously. It may be several more days before she can share here or via text since she can't read small fonts well. Here you go:

The doctors began surgery at 8:15 and were finished by 9:00 ish. It was quiet the surprise since it was expected to take 1 1/2 hrs at the least. The neurologist and ENT were both very pleased with how the process went. The tumor was deflated and removed just as hoped for. After getting in there, they found a cyst attached to the tumor. The doctors were not expecting this, but it obviously did not cause any issues in the surgery. They were able to deflate it also and remove it. So, everything is totally gone - cyst and tumor both.Thank you for prayers. Praise God.

This does help explain more of her vision issues though. The surgeon explained that it was very crowded and there was quiet a bit more pressure put on that optical nerve than they were originally thinking was there. In having this all removed now, we are all hopeful in seeing her vision recover. It could take some time, and we ask that you join us in prayer through her recovery: that it would go without further issue and would be successful in complete vision recovery and pituitary function!

Thank you for being a community that has stepped up and surrounded her with sweet spirits, encouragement, & prayer. She knows she is blessed and thanks the Lord for each of you. We, as her family, do as well!

I will continue to be on here with updates. May God be glorified in all that is done through this.

Much love and thanks to you all,

Christina

Prayers for Lindsey

Our very dear friend, former co-worker to Cory, former roommate to me, bridesmaid in our wedding, my very own hair stylist for those times in my life when I needed prom hair, our photographer extraordinaire, our karaoke singing professional, the diva in our life, Lincoln's Aunt Z who wrote Where the Wild Things Are and most importantly a sister in Christ needs our prayers! This morning Lindsey will undergo a surgery to remove a benign tumor from her pituitary gland. Lindsey shares more details about the surgery on her photography blog. Please pray for Lindsey, her family, and doctors as they perform the surgery.
If you have a moment go leave her a comment that you are praying! Thank you!!!

P.S. For those of you who have prayed for Sarah and the removal of her tumor then click on over to her blog at Fries Family Four to read an update from Sarah herself.

Lincoln Lately - 13 months

Well, well, well we have entered toddlerhood and it has definitely brought with it a semi VERY active little guy. He does not enjoy sitting for long but prefers walking around with something in each hand. His favorite things include remotes, spatulas and a ball. We are definitely getting our exercise in keeping up with him! Here is what he is up to these days --

13 month Stats:
  • He weighs around 23 pounds and is about 30.5 inches tall
  • He has been sleeping in more on days off, till about 8:00 or even later on our days at home
  • He has started trying to drop his morning nap -- about every other day he takes 2 that are about 1.5 hours each and on other days its just one nap that is about 2.5-3 hours long.

  • He wears size 4 diapers, 12 month clothes and size 3-4 shoe.
  • He still drinks 2 bottles a day, morning and bedtime
  • He is on all whole milk
  • His top one year molars are about 30% of the way in
  • He drinks well from a sippy cup throughout the day
  • He eats a TON of food and is not picky

  • He stoops from a standing position to pick up something and can stand back up on his own without crawling over to pull up to stand up
  • He is demonstrating that he understands the function of items more - holds phone up to ear says hi and talks, makes "vroom" noise when moving cars across the floor, picks up my shoes and brings them over to my feet to "put" them on me
  • He follows simple directions at times (i.e. go get your lovie or go get your drink)

  • He can point to his belly when asked "Where is your belly?"
  • He makes a "ruff" noise when asked what does a dog say, hears another dog bark or sees the picture of a dog or something similar (other 4-legged creatures)
  • He has started to not only walk now but at times its more of a run or fast waddle!
  • His words include: Dada, Mama, Hi, Bye-Bye and the other night we are pretty sure he said "bath" as he was walking to the bathroom
  • His signs include: All done, Drink, More, Night-Night and Bath
  • He had a fun visit with his cousins

  • He gives high-fives now
  • He is more comfortable in his crib and will stay in there after naps and play for a while before wanting to get out
  • He has the best daddy EVER.

We love you, Lincoln Miles!

(In case you haven't noticed!)
