Thanksgiving Recap

Umm,  yes I a little behind.  So is life right now.

We "hosted" Thanksgiving at our house this year with my parents.  I use the term "hosted" lightly b/c we basically provided the house, table and chairs.  Well, we did contribute a little more than that but my mom and dad did a lot of the work.  Dad and Cory fried the turkey while mom prepared the rest of the meal inside.  I did not feel well on Thanksgiving day so I laid in bed most of the morning.  After we ate Thanksgiving lunch we loaded up the car and headed to Branson for the rest of the week.  We lounged around, shopped some and lounged around somemore.

On Friday night we went to the Dixie Stampede.  I was a little nervous about taking Lincoln but figured with four adults and one child we could manage to corral him throughout the show.  Boy, was I proven wrong.  Lincoln LOVED the show.  It was by far the best 2 hours of his life.  Seriously, if he could talk more I am pretty sure he would be asking to go back again - everyday!  He sat in his high chair for 2 hours, clapping, dancing, "neighing" at the horses, and waving and talking to our waitress.  He would often go down the row "dada?" "mama?" "Gigi?" "Papa?" and point out at the arena to make sure we were all paying attention.  I truly never thought it would go over as well as it did.  Lincoln has never sat still for 2 hours in his life except in the carseat and even at that he wants out by about an hour.  We only managed to get a few pictures after the show and at that point he was tired.

We enjoyed our holiday very much!  We have so much to be grateful for.

Lake Fun on the Fourth

For the Fourth of July we spent the weekend at the lake with Cory's family.  It was Lincoln's first boat trip experience and he definitely LOVED it.  We had to watch him extra close because if we didn't he would have just jumped in the water without any fear.  It was lots of time in the car and lots of new fun people to play with which meant he his little schedule was thrown out the window.

On a side note and something I want to remember...Lincoln also decided to continue his little habit of biting those who do not follow his way.  He is so sweet and a pleasure most of the time but I have discovered that when he is tired then the biting occurs.  It has helped that we have learned this and hopefully we can avoid anymore biting situations in the future.  Whew, it has stressed me out but it is such a small part of his behavior that hopefully soon we can move past this phase.

Anyways, on to pictures.  I actually only took a couple of pictures but my SIL's sister is a photographer and took over a hundred pictures of the weekend.  So, I am stealing her pictures.  (Her name is Amanda Allen and if you live it the Dallas, TX area then you should call her to take your family pictures.  She does an amazing job.  Here is her facebook page.)

Ok, now that I have plugged her here are her pictures I stole of the weekend....

We enjoyed a very Happy 4th and we hope you did too!

Easter Twenty-Eleven.

We spent Easter weekend here at our house.  My parents came up to celebrate with us.  Unfortunately, we stayed inside most of the weekend like most of NWA due to the substantial amount of rain we have been getting.  I would not even be lying if I said it has not stopped raining, thundering and lightening since Thursday.  We are going on about 90 hours of non-stop rain!  D-pressing!   I would not be a happy person if I lived in Seattle.

On Sunday morning, our church performed a "drama" reenacting the crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus.  It is chilling how real the performance appears.  It makes you wonder about the people in that day who witnessed this.  How could you NOT believe??  It was a great service!

Look at this sweet little stud muffin of an man in his Easter threads!

                                          This is his GQ model look.  :)

Love grows.

Last year Lincoln was only 3 days old.

And this year he doesn't even hardly resemble that 3 day old baby.

I am a lucky lady to have two fella's to call my Valentine!

And tons of family and friends that I love very dearly and chose to love me back!

HAVE A HAPPY "HEART" DAY!

Christmas 2010 {Part two}

After Christmas we headed to P-town to have Christmas at Mimi (Cory's mom) and Poppy's house. Pretty soon after we hit the door there it was non-stop action. Cory's twin brother and his family -- Cody, Jessica and their two daughters Mady (2.5 years old) and Lucy (7 months old) also joined us. So, three babies 2 and under means that there was always something going on!
It went something like this with the three of them -- Mady wanting to hug and love on Lincoln, and Lincoln on her, Mady telling Lincoln what to do and what not to do (ha!) and then Lincoln trying to play "with" Lucy by taking her toys, pulling her hair and laying on her. We had stay on top of it to make sure they had fun and not tears were happening! Ha! With all of this going on we were lucky to get ANY pictures! When I got home and looked at the pics I only had ones of the babies. We didn't even think to get together for a group shot or anything! O well, we got some good ones at Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures from our time there.

Lincoln with a little Santa on his bottom! Love these pants!

Sweet Lucy-Pie playing with her toys.

Exhibit HH: Lincoln taking the toy from Lucy! Ha! Mady with her new rain boots. She enjoyed walking around with just one of them on for some crazy reason!
.

Lincoln got 2 push toys and to say that he LOVES them would be a total understatement. This picture definitely captures his excitement!

Christmas 2010 {Part One}

We spent Christmas Day this year in Bryant with my parents. My brother and sister-in-law were unable to come and we missed them and the four sweet little faces at their house dearly. For starters on Christmas eve we just lounged around the house, cooked and ate all day! Lincoln was Gigi's official cooking helper in his highchair! And he loved it b/c he loves to be in the middle of all the action.

Later that evening, we headed to a local church for their Christmas Eve service. Before heading out we, of course, had to take some pics all dressed up. Lincoln all smiles in his Christmas outfit from Papa and Gigi.

{Glad we captured this pics BEFORE we went b/c during the service Lincoln got antsy so my dad took him out in the lobby area. While out there, Lincoln was "cruising" around an ottoman and feel down and busted his lip open. Good timed, good times!}

Christmas morning.

Lincoln with all the presents and the tree.

Cory and Lincoln early on Christmas morning!

Lincoln and I opening up his stocking!

After the stocking he was not too interested in the presents. He definitely enjoyed the boxes, tape and tissue paper the best!

Here he is with his new Mega Bloks table. He was just excited about ANOTHER box to play with!

Gigi opening up her goodies and telling Lincoln about them...

Dad checking on his new toothbrush refills. :)

Cory opening up his (our) new George Foreman grill.

Me with my "blog book" that my mom had made! She printed my whole blog from 2010 into a hardback bound book. Its fun to sit down and look through it. 2010 will definitely be a year to remember.

Our family on Christmas day!

Later that day Lincoln loved playing with his Mega Bloks table. It has since been a big hit. He likes for me to put all the pieces on there and then he takes them all off.

Later that afternoon we headed over to Pop-pa's house for Christmas time with him!

Playing with his new ball wire maze.
Merry 1st Christmas, Lincoln!

We had a lot of fun with you and can hardly wait till you get older so we are able to tell you the reason we have so much to celebrate during this holiday season. You are such a sweet little guy. We just love your sweet expressions. And we just simply love you. To pieces. To the moon and back. And more than I could ever type out.

Love, Mommy and Daddy.
