Lindsey's sister, Christina, has been kind enough to share updates with us on Lindsey's day. Here is what her sister wrote a note on facebook this afternoon. Since this was written I have received a couple of text messages from Lindsey so that is a praise that she is able to "see" to text! Good news on how the procedure went and now we pray for her vision to recover quickly and fully!
Here is the note from her sister:
I've been trying to catch up on the information Lindsey has shared here so far to know the best way to update you all. Here is my attempt at following up on what all she has shared previously. It may be several more days before she can share here or via text since she can't read small fonts well. Here you go:
The doctors began surgery at 8:15 and were finished by 9:00 ish. It was quiet the surprise since it was expected to take 1 1/2 hrs at the least. The neurologist and ENT were both very pleased with how the process went. The tumor was deflated and removed just as hoped for. After getting in there, they found a cyst attached to the tumor. The doctors were not expecting this, but it obviously did not cause any issues in the surgery. They were able to deflate it also and remove it. So, everything is totally gone - cyst and tumor both.Thank you for prayers. Praise God.
This does help explain more of her vision issues though. The surgeon explained that it was very crowded and there was quiet a bit more pressure put on that optical nerve than they were originally thinking was there. In having this all removed now, we are all hopeful in seeing her vision recover. It could take some time, and we ask that you join us in prayer through her recovery: that it would go without further issue and would be successful in complete vision recovery and pituitary function!
Thank you for being a community that has stepped up and surrounded her with sweet spirits, encouragement, & prayer. She knows she is blessed and thanks the Lord for each of you. We, as her family, do as well!
I will continue to be on here with updates. May God be glorified in all that is done through this.
Much love and thanks to you all,
Christina
