Historic snow fall.

Well, I will let the tape measure speak for itself....

Yes, you read that correctly. 23 inches measured yesterday in our driveway.

This is our neighbors car.

Snow was falling around 2-3 inches per hour which means that all 23 inches fell in about an 8 hour time frame.

Our house has definitely never seen so much snow. It was definitely one for the history books for the whole state of Arkansas.

This mound of snow was perched on our roof about the garage. A very interesting way of accumulating. We ventured out in the afternoon to explore this very fluffy snow.

Lincoln was not sure what to think about all of this.

It was so tall that we couldn't really let him "play" in it. We did let him stand up in it after we dug him a place to stand. His face tells it all. We probably won't see this amount of snow again till Lincoln is all grown up!

Yikes!

All snowed in.

Well, we had FOUR snow days in a row this week. We ended up with about .25-.50 inches of ice and another 7-9 inches of snow that all fell on Tuesday. Then on Friday another 3-5 inches fell. And it has not been above freezing since all of this started. Needless to say, schools were canceled Tuesday through Friday. Lincoln and I made the most of our snow days together.

Lincoln checked out all the snow on several occasions. He loves looking outside.

"Look at all the snow, Mommy!"

We played dress up in his new outfit from our neighbors. Their parents came to visit from Bombay, India and they brought us this sweet outfit for Lincoln. Too fun.
I got the measuring tape out to see how long Lincoln had gotten and it became one of his most favorite toys.

I introduced Lincoln to crayons teaching him to color with them and not eat them. The scribbles on the paper in the picture were done by me and not him. He just kept laying the crayon on the paper.

He discovered a nook between the couch and wall underneath the window and I often found him laying there hanging out.

His walking has picked up big time during the last several days. He can now walk from one room to the next, make a controlled turn in his walking and stop when he wants to stop.

We played in our yogurt while we ate it. Just because.

Then we had to take a bath because he had yogurt all in his hair. He looks like he is saying, "Really mom, can you put that camera down!"

And then we pretended that we were George Washington with a gray beard!

And of course, I had to give him a mohawk because when daddy is home he always brushes it down. He says one big curl looks silly but mommy was in charge this time.

"Seriously mommy, I love you a lot and you are the coolest mommy ever BUT are we ever going to leave the house again?"

All snuggled up on Friday night after our brave outing with daddy to Chick-fil-A and Target.

I sure enjoyed hanging out with my little man during these snow days!

Now we are ready to spend the weekend with daddy and hopefully get out of the house some!

More Snow?

As I type the snow is falling and Lincoln is taking his morning nap. I enjoy an occassional snow day but we have already used 3 of our 5 for the school year. And today we are using the 4th. I am not fan of going to school too far into June so I am hoping this is the last major snow of the season.

About two weeks ago we had our first snow of the season which was about 6 inches. We got Lincoln out in it for about 4 minutes while Cory was home for lunch. He wasn't sure what to think and was so serious about it. Here are a few pics of the big event! Ha.

We have already had about .25 to .50 inches of ice fall this morning and now they are predicting anywhere from 4 to 10 inches of snow. We will be enjoying the view from inside while we drink our hot chocolate.

Happy Snow Day!
Stay warm and toasty!
