Everything Emery {3 months}

Happy 3 months, Emmy Claire!!

We are so happy to have you at our house.  You are the sweetest, cuddliest little gal ever.  We sometimes forget you are there because you are such a quiet and content baby.  You have the softest voice, the prettiest eyes and the most peaceful demeanor.  I am pretty sure it is three-way tie who loves you the most in our home!  Let's see what you have been up to this month.

Three month stats:
  • I would guess you weigh about 13-14 pounds
  • You are eating 5 bottles a day at 6 ounces each which is every three hours.  You are still drinking the Alimentum formula and taking 2.5 ml's of Prevacid each day.
  • You are still a super star sleeper at nighttime.  You take you last bottle about 7:30 at night and sleep till 7:30 the next morning.  You have been doing this pretty consistently since 10 weeks.  You are still swaddled at night but I have to go in about once a night and re-swaddle you so I think soon you will be growing out of that soon
  • You have become a great napper too.  You take about 4 naps a day.  The morning one at 9:00 or so is about 1.5 hours, the next at 12:00 for about 45 minutes, the next at 2:00 for about 2.5-3 hours and last one in the evening about 6:15 for about thirty minutes.  Your short naps are in the swing and your long naps are swaddled in your bed.
  • Your hair still stand straight up but it is more of a light brown.  The peach fuss on your head is very short and has a blondish-redish tint to it.  Your eyes are still bright blue.

  • You are wearing a size one diaper and 3 month clothing but I think you will be moving up in both of those soon.
  • You are SOOO easy going.  You rarely cry during the day and if you do it is b/c you have a good reason -- hungry, tired, wet, poopy or Lincoln is laying on top of you!  Ha!

  • You love to be talked to and smile often.  You have not laughed yet but you do make a small little sound sometimes when you smile like you are close to laughing.
  • You have started batting at the toys in the bouncy seat as well as grabbing a hold of items like your shirt and mommy's hair.
  • You have not rolled over completely yet.  If I put you on your tummy and get you started about 20% of the way then you can roll over the rest to your back but I have to help get you started!

  • You still love the bath.  I think it makes your stomach feel better b/c lately have been pooping in there.  Let's not make this a habit, ok? :)
  • You sometimes get really upset if Lincoln scares you or if you feel like you have been left alone and you don't want to be.  You seem to scare easily and be much more fragile than we are use to around here! :)  You have the funniest facial expressions.
  • You have the absolute softest coos and gurgles.  You have started "talking" more when you are by yourself or in the backseat of the car.
  • You do have a love for Lincoln  but at times you are unsure what to think of all the attention from him.  He is a super big fan of you and is protective when we are around others who are holding you.  He often tells them "That's my Emmy!"  You are one of the first things he talks about when he wakes up, he loves to go with me to get you up from your naps, give you your paci and bring you your blanket and lovie.

And here is the monthly comparison of you and Lincoln.  I do see resemblances in a way but I also think you guys each look very different from one another.  We sure do love you both like crazy though.

    Fourth of July

We spent the Fourth of July holiday in Bryant.  Our sweet little gal was all festive in her cute new outfit from her Aunt Gecka!  Such a cutie!

We enjoyed the five days home seeing lots of family, seeing the new Spiderman movie (which I highly recommend), and playing with Lincoln at the WonderPlace. And we actually had a few free minutes on Sunday morning before church to snap a few pictures!

We love holidays with our families!

    Visitors.

The last week of June Cory's brother, SIL and two nieces came to visit for several days. Cory's brother was speaking at a local camp during the day so that left Jessica and I to keep up with the four kiddos ages 4, 2, 2 and 2 months! We had a lot of fun.

This was Uncle Cody's or (Uncle Tody as Lincoln calls him) first time to meet Emery. My SIL and nieces were there at the hospital when Emery was born but Cody was out of town so he could not make it. Here is a picture I stole from Jessica of Cody meeting Emery for the first time.

It was fun to watch the four cousins interact. It went something like this - Mady wanted to play with Lincoln, Lincoln was concerned with Lucy (or Shucy as he called her) and Lucy constantly wanted to be near Emery. The only pictures taken from the week were iPhone pictures! We were too busy to even think about busting out the real camera! Here are the pictures...

We loved having them visit and hope they come back soon!!

Tummy Time, Potty Training and Brotherly Love

Here is what we have been up to lately...

    Working on our tummy time....

She is getting much better at it and can pick up her legs and bottom half to roll over but her chest and head are not wanting to roll over quite yet.

And this little guy has been working on his potty training.  This upcoming weekend we are doing our three-day potty training boot camp!  Big boy underwear here we come.  Stay tuned to hear how it turns out.  Wish us luck!

And Lincoln can't get love on Emery enough but she is not quite so sure what she thinks about all this attention from her big brother! Ha!

    Poppy, Blueberries, and Airplanes

This post is LONG overdue!  (I am slightly behind in my blogging.  I have NO CLUE what could have been keeping me busy these days! :) )  Back in early June Mimi and Poppy came to visit for the weekend.  This was Poppy's first time to meet Emery and he was just as smitten with her as we all are.

We also spent sometime picking blueberries while Mimi looked after Emery in the barn at the Blueberry Barn.

On our way to the Blueberry Barn we drove by a small airport and it took Lincoln 0.2 seconds to spot the airplanes and helicopters.  So after picking blueberries we stopped by so that Lincoln could see them up close and in person. Lincoln has a big love for airplanes so this made him one happy little guy!

Thanks for coming to visit us Mimi and Poppy!

    Two month check-up

Well I loaded up both kids and took them to Emery's two month check-up. It went pretty well. I really played it up to Lincoln that he was the big brother helper. He kept saying "Emmy go to dr to feel better."

We took pictures of ourselves to help pass the time!

Emery was a superstar during the appointment. She did not mind at all to be poked on. She is a healthy little gal weighing in at 12 pounds 2 ounces (75th percentile) and 24 inches long (95th percentile). Weight gain is no longer a problem for her. When she got her shots she just cried for 2 seconds and when I said "It's ok, Emery" she just smiled at me and has not seemed bothered since. She is a joy.
