Our sweet little gal somehow turned 7 months overnight!
These months sure are starting to fly by.
She is definitely starting to show her personality a little bit more and seems more like a baby than a newborn. She started sitting up a few days after she turned 6 months and she sits up like a superstar! She LOVES to stand up and everytime I go to set her down she stiffens up her legs and I have to bend her at the waist to get her to sit down. She still does not have any teeth yet but has been drooling more and been more fussy this month as if her gums are really bothering her. She is still as sweet as she can be and just goes with the flow.
Let's see what you are up to this month, Emmy-girl:
- I do not know what you weigh or your length but you are definitely gaining weight and growing in length quickly.
- You still take 2 naps a day. 9:30-11:00 or so and 1:00-4:00. You occasionally cat nap in the evenings if you did not take a very long nap or we are out and about in the evenings.
- You are wearing size 3 diapers and mainly 9 month clothing. You can still fit in a few 6 month items but not many. You are long and I cannot get most 6 month onesies buttoned on you.
- You, however, have tiny feet and are barely a size 1.
- You have kept the same schedule this month. You eat 4 bottles a day, every 4 hours that are 7 ounces each. You still drink Enfamil Gentlease and you still take 2.5 ML of prevacid everyday.
- You have been eating more and more baby food. I have not found a fruit you will not eat but you are NOT a fan of carrots. Just like your brother you gag and give me a terrible look when I try to feed them to you. You also do not appear to love any "green" vegetable but you will eat them.
- We gave you yogurt this month but it seems to upset your stomach so we will try again in another month or so
- You started eating "rice cups" and "yogurt melts" this month. You prefer the rice cups over the yogurt melts.
- Every time someone around you is eating something you just stare at them! I think you are ready for some "real food."
- You have started to develop a fear of men this month. Just like Lincoln did. You use to love for men to talk to you but this month you even got scared a few times when your grandfathers and uncles tried to hold you. You like them from afar but not too close up.
- You have been shrieking a lot this month. It is very high pitched but still has a soft sound to it.
- You have had several babbles that sound close to "dada" or "bubbu" but I do not think you are quite there. Although, Lincoln is convinced that you say "bubba" all the time :)
- While sitting up, you try to reach really far forward but instead of getting on your hands and knees you just sit back up. It appears as though you are building up your courage but not quite ready for all that.
- You still take a bath in the baby bath tub in the big bath tub but I think we are going to move you to the duck bath tub this coming month. You sit up well enough for it.
- You have learned to bang toys on a surface and love to do it over and over and over.
- You favor mommy the most and mommy can also make you laugh the most! I dare to say that you are a momma's girl.
- You celebrated your first Thanksgiving in a sweet little Turkey dress.
- You like it when people make noises at you and LOVE it when you are sung to. Your favorites are patty-cake and itsy-bitsy-spider.
- You still love the exersaucer.
- You still love your paci but mostly just in your bed while you are sleeping.
- You do not have any teeth yet but maybe soon.
- You are still in your carrier but I am not sure you are going to fit in there much longer.
- You love it when Lincoln is around. I overheard him the other day saying "I love you sugar britches Emmy. We best friends." and then about ten seconds later he called you a dragon and karate chopped you on the head. Everytime he walks by you he has to put his hand on your head. If you start to cry while Lincoln and I are in the other room he yells to you over and over "Don't cry Emmy, we be there in a minute. We not weave (leave) you."
Here is the comparison with you and Lincoln this month. You look older than he does this month. It may just be because he is not sitting straight up. Two sweet babies indeed!
Happy 7 months, sweet girl. We love you to pieces and enjoy your cuddles and sweet smiles. You are a joy to have around and are the cutest little gal we have every seen!
